Sample Business Plans to Use For Your Small Business

No Fortune 500 company could have ever achieved such a successful level without having done extensive business planning. It had to be done throughout all stages of its growth! From incubation or startup, to grow into a regional or national power certainly took meticulous planning and then precision execution of the plan.

Many entrepreneurs have brilliant plans and ideas for their business and yet fail to put these into a written document. At some point in the growth of any business, the 'brain trust' of the company must be expanded beyond a single founder or charismatic leader.

SAMPLE QUESTIONS

Of course, most small companies are started by one or two entrepreneurs who drive the startup enterprise by their vision, charisma, and aggressive leadership. There seems to be a plateau where the organization must necessarily shift gears to break through. It is at this point that the business plan is a catalyst that helps propel the small company to a much higher level.

Much of the need for a business plan is driven by the need for a communications vehicle so that the plans and strategies of the founder can be effectively and clearly understood by a 'core group' of managers in the company. Growth beyond the small business level can only be achieved by a group of motivated people focusing on common strategies and by the group working together to 'make it happen'!

Every business needs a business plan! A sample business plan might be as simple as a few diagrams on the back of a cocktail napkin. (Many great plans have resulted from such a diagram as an effective communication tool!) If you are starting to develop your business plan from such a diagram, it is especially easy to come up with a rudimentary plan simply by understanding the business diagram and answering the 6 Major Questions of Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How and capturing the answers in writing.

The more detailed you can make your answers to the major questions, the more complete the resulting plan will be. After all, it should be your intent to fully explain the vision and mission that was intended in the original business diagram.

If you are lacking such a starting diagram, you may wish to organize your business plan along the more traditional framework by defining your company's Product, MarketPlace, Pricing and Promotion strategies. This method was originally described in the Harvard Business Review in the 1960's and the "4 P's" of marketing has worked for many thousands of small to medium size companies.

By defining your business along these lines, you can flesh out extensive details of the major components of your plan. Such a sample business plan will provide a framework upon which you may constantly update and upgrade your plan as you take your plan to market and experience successes and failures. Based upon actual business experience in the field, each repetition of the planning process will improve your plan and your chances for success.

The actual format and construction of your sample business plan is much less important than the act of taking the first step to put a basic business plan down on paper.

Job Interview Skills Tips - Sample Interview Thank You Notes

Let's say you have just attended an interview with 20 other people who have also attended the same interview. The interviewer will definitely have a hard time choosing between all the excellent candidates.
So what if you have a degree, others have masters or PhDs. However, all humans are to a certain extent judgemental. So after an interview, it's apt to write a thank you letter to the interviewer as part of the job interview skills. This puts you in front of the other candidates as you have proven to the interviewer that you are a proactive person and also a team player.

The rule of the thumb to follow when writing a thank you letter is to mention your appreciation and gratitude to the interviewer for taking his/her time to interview you. You should also mention your interest and enthusiasm in the job you are applying for.

SAMPLE QUESTIONS

The next paragraph should be re-affirming your reasons on why you are an exceptional candidate for the job. You should list down specific skills that relate to the job and also past achievements that you have accomplished whether it is personal or official such as volunteering for a charity organisation for the past 10 years or winning a competition in high school. A good job interview skills coach will be a huge help for college graduates to design a professional thank you letter.

The third paragraph is freestyle writing. This is the core part of the letter in which you can definitely make a long lasting good impression to the interviewer. You can also pose questions to the interviewer especially questions that you have forgotten to ask during the interview. However, do not answer questions that you think you have answered poorly during the interview as this will remind the interviewer of your flaws.
In the closing paragraph, mention once again your utmost appreciation and gratitude to the interviewer for being considered for the job and let the interviewer know that you are looking forward towards embarking on a career in that company.

Do not underestimate the importance of thank you letters as this is the most essential part of the job interview skills.

Usefulness of an Employee Payslip Sample

The success of an organisation or a company depends upon how best the employers make use of the available resources in the right ways possible. The usefulness of a sample for all the documents they need to prepare for the records or future references will be quite high as they will give us the chance to provide good quality and adequate training with expenses indeed, to the employees. Moreover the success of a company can be recognised by means of the payments received by the employees and those who work from the outside to help the firm. This means that the payslips given for the employees after calculation of the salary amounts or the depositing of the same in the person's bank account should be able to give out the best for them in terms of many simple factors.

This will be achieved only when the employees receive payslip made or selected after carefully understanding the true requirements of the same and by going through many samples to choose the fields required for the one we need. This being the case, the usefulness of an employee payslip sample which can guide us through the process mentioned above will be found only when we are ready to search for them without hesitation or eagerness.

SAMPLE QUESTIONS

The main useful features of the employee payslip sample can be tabulated as follows;

1. The sample will be useful in helping us find out what exactly should an employee payslip contains and in what ways should the same be altered to suit our needs in the company.

2. When the samples are carefully scrutinised, the flow of points required in it becomes clear and thereby helps us in maintaining the flow in our versions of payslips if we are making one ourselves.

3. The common requirements mentioned in the employee payslip sample versions will guide us when we are on the lookout for an original version to purchase in future.

Irrespective of that, being a crucial phase, it is very essential for you to prepare for the interview in every possible way you can.

Sample Debt Collection Letters

Debt collection letters are tools in the debt collection process. They are intended to remind the debtor about his liability. They are also proof of necessary communication in the court while litigation proceeds. The federal law, FDCPA, insists on a standard methodology for the letter. The use of illegal words or style in the debt collection records will be a violation of the law. To avoid such difficult circumstances, sample letters can be used as route maps for standard debt collection letters. Sample debt collection letters narrate the content and style of debt collection letters.

Sample debt collection letters act as a guide for debt collection documents. FDCPA regulations protect the rights of the debtor. The Act particularly insists not to include abusive, harassing and deceptive statements in the correspondence. Sample letters exemplify the right pattern of communication. The procedure usually involves a letter within 5 days of the first telephone call to the debtor in order to clarify the details. In the absence of a favorable reply, debt collectors send reminders. Sample letters are available for each format, whether they are sample reminder letters or sample notice letters.

SAMPLE QUESTIONS

Sample letters are informational resources for debt collection letters. They provide the outline, though they cannot be copied as such. However, some ready made letters are also available in which only details such as the name, due amount and date have to be added. They are provided in the pre-formatted version, suitable for various circumstances.

Sample debt collection letters are usually provided by experts in the debt collection field. Section 812 of FDCPA imposes civil liabilities for the supply of deceptive sample letters. The Internet is the best source at your fingertips. Sample letters are generally available on websites of attorneys and debt collector agencies. A few sites provide free sample letters. Pre-formatted sample debt collection letters can be downloaded and used as original letters with necessary modifications. Sample letters are also included in books and training modules on debt collection.

Police Oral Board Interview - Sample Interview Question and Answer

Here's a sample police interview question for you. Just remember there is no "right" or "wrong" way to answer a scenario base question. Simply use good common sense to come up with a logical response.

Police oral board sample interview question:

SAMPLE QUESTIONS

1. You are dispatched to a large fight in progress at the neighborhood bar. upon arrival, you observed the fight to still be going on. You instruct the crowd to disperse, and leave the establishment. Everyone complied with your verbal commands except one male subject who appeared agitated. You approach the male, but noticed that the male subject was a lot bigger and a lot stronger than you. You informed the male that he has to leave the bar as he was part of the large fight that just took place, he ignores you.

You tell the male that he has to leave a second time. But this time, he turns and face you with a clinched fist, while advancing towards you. What is your next course of action:

A. Immediately grab a hold of your fireman and shoot the male center mass
B. Walk away and wait for back up
C. Give the male clear verbal commands to stand back, while holding your less lethal weapon in hand
D. Take your chances and engage the male in a fist fight, hoping that you will prevail

The correct answer in this particular scenario is C. You must give the male subject clear verbal commands before using force. If the male fail to comply to your commands and continue walking towards, then you should deploy your non-lethal weapon such as a pepper spray and/or taser to subdue the subject. Just remember that the panel will ask you a followup questions so be prepared to answer accordingly.

Layering Drum Samples - Does it Work?

When layering drum samples together to make new sounds, one must consider all the technical aspects and also pay attention to the artful aspect that underlines all musical decisions in a beat making project. The evolution of drum samples, from sampled styles in the 70's and 80's to synthesized sounds from the 80s until now plays a huge role, and the more familiar you are with your history the better and more valid your decisions can be. These days, hybrid sounds dominate the sample scene, but each side has its strong points.

When layering sampled and synthesized drum samples, closely monitoring the distortion is advised.

SAMPLE QUESTIONS

Synthesized samples can be pretty loudly generated without losing much data, but combining these with drums played by a professional band drummer in a studio can lead to metering issues in most cases.

The start of a sample is dubbed by many as the 'attack', the starting point that lets you know the sound has arrived. This part of the sound is what cuts through other, more release-laden instruments like strings and synths.

The middle of a sample is what sustains it. A drum sample with a boomy middle, like the 808 kick, for instance, may have a slow (soft) attack, so its announcement is not as pronounced as a snappy snare to give an example. But you can sure feel it, and this is what has made it such a cultural phenomenon since the 80s.

The end of a drum sample is not as 'important' to most music producers as the other two phases. It's true that if fading out slowly or quickly, not much though needs to be given to the end, but there are a lot of samples out there right now (mostly free ones and some paid ones, too) that clip at the end. You really must not have this happen! Take the last few milliseconds, drag to the end and fade out three to four times if you want. Even just once will ensure that clipping is made non-existent.

Layering is not as hard as it is said to be. Much of the time, you can't just combine two samples after lining them up. What you should concentrate on is combining the phases of different samples. So if one particular kick drum has a great middle but lacks a punchy entrance, take the entrance from another sample and mix-paste the wave forms to form a hybrid that please the ear both through its announcement and guest talk, so to speak. When it comes time to 'leave the party', the drum sample can simply be faded out or have a reverb tail it out. The possibilities are endless.

Drafting a Sample Executive Summary

A pulley does not face difficulties in functioning and anyone inspecting its performance will see that it has been well-kept, only if it is well oiled and maintained periodically. Similarly, a company dealing in any kind of business should be well maintained and records should be updated once in a while, so that anyone looking into it will see the true efficiency and profitable management plans of the company. An executive summary gives us the complete overview of the company, its functioning and about the future plans in one complete flow. However a sample executive summary, prepared before formulating the original summary, will help us greatly in maintaining the correct figures and information easily. It is usually found to express details as a whole which can later be arranged accordingly. However, a standard sample executive summary will have details on the opportunities that exists in the present scenario and in the near future, concepts of the company which forms the baseline of the entire system, Milestones which the company has successfully crossed till now and about the sources of revenue for the company other than the present fixed funds of the company. Such details will help people gain confidence and enable those who wish to either take part in the business proceedings or to invest in it.

The next part of the sample executive summary should be on the strategies implemented till now and those which have been planned for the future. This section will include details on the competition in the business field, descriptions of the services provided by the company, overview on the reports of the marketing departments' functions and achievements, financial overview for the present year and about the management team which is responsible for the smooth functioning of the company. All these information has to be drafted in the sample summary, checked and double checked before making the original executive summary.

Every day people who think they are prepared to the height of their potential go to take exams, only to come out feeling as though they were completely unprepared and had only managed to waste their time. This is the same reason that the correct examination preparation materials can really put you ahead of your fellow test takers. See, in order for these test to be truly "standardized" they have to ask the same type of questions every test. This doesn't mean that they will ask exactly the same question, but it does mean that they will ask very similar questions, questions that can have a certain type of strategy applied to solving them. What this means for you is that you never have to sit in an examination center staring at a blank document and a list of questions, wondering why you can't seem to answer any of the inquiries and trying to figure out if you've just completely wasted your time. Practice can really help to make sure that you are leagues ahead of what the exam expects of you, and SPI sample examination is one of the primary tools you will need.

Candy Samples Are Hard to Find

For free sample fans, one of the most difficult types of samples to find are candy samples. For some reason you can find a slew of free samples for any other products. You would be amazed at how many makeup, snack, paper towel and toilet paper manufacturers are giving away freebies right on their official websites. As a matter of fact, there is no longer a need to search the web for surveys to take or free sample websites. All you really need to do is look up the manufacturer and visit their site. Maybe you might have to sign up for one of their free programs or some sort of news letter but once you do, you are sure to be updated with tons of samples, coupons and other great money saving deals.

If you really have your heart set on getting yourself some free samples of candy, here are a few tips that might help you on your way. I wouldn't recommend searching for free candy sample sites as they are a rare commodity. You will probably only come across misleading and shadier websites. What you can do is bookmark all of your favorite candy related websites. Sites like Mars, Nestle and Willy Wonka are perfect examples. Sign up for any free memberships and programs that they have available and visit their sites often to look for updates. Aside from those few tips I am sorry to say there isn't much you can do.

SAMPLE QUESTIONS

Hours of searching online and I could only find one site offering free samples of Mars chocolate, secure.realchocolate.com. Although, there are some restrictions. They only offer a sample for the first 250,000 requests  and only on Fridays, don't ask me why.

I hope that you found this article informative, good luck finding free candy samples.

Sample Job Interview Questions For Success

Sample Job Interview Question #1: What do you know about our company?

This question is usually asked in the beginning stages of the interview process. To prepare for this question, you'll want to research as much as you can about the company beforehand. You can search for information in the most obvious place - the web or call the company ahead of time and request a company brochure. The things that you'll want to zero in may include; the industry, their length of time in business, their annual sales figures (if it's a public company) and, their corporate culture.

SAMPLE QUESTIONS

Sample Job Interview Question #2: What are your strengths?

Many people have trouble with this question because we are trained from way back in elementary school to work on our weaknesses and so they find it hard to even identify their strengths. Also, many of us grew up being told that it's not proper to boast about ourselves. So for this question, be prepared with at least 3 key strengths that relate back to the job posting. An example would be the following, "I have many strengths that I think you'll find valuable, however I will highlight 3 specific strengths that relate to what I believe you are looking for. First, I have excellent rapport building skills and during the last 3 years I have developed a number of key accounts to the point where I am now their exclusive supplier. Second, I grew my territory by 30% in the last twelve months, etc."

Sample Job Interview Question #3: What are your weaknesses?

This question can be a tricky one but you can answer it honestly so long as you are able to describe how you counter your weakness and keep it from being a barrier to your success and the success of the company. Your answer may include that you ask for input or feedback from other colleagues or staff members. It's really important to be prepared for this question, many people are stumped by it. Think it through before hand and imagine how the interview might perceive your answer. Make sure it is positive and ultimately demonstrates your value to the organization.

What To Do To Avoid Blast Off During The Naplex Countdown

As your date with the NAPLEX approaches - feeling a bit like a locomotive on steroids the closer the day gets - don't wear yourself out by worrying about how difficult the exam will be.

naplex review book 2011

Instead - and strangely enough - you'll find that a little mind and body conditioning will most certainly help on the actual day.

NAPLEX

The last few days before the exam should be your "Actually Sitting The NAPLEX" practice ensuring you're in top mental and physical shape at that time.

I mean, let's get serious. By now, you should have studied sufficiently for the test and cramming last few bits in the last couple of days is totally out of the question.

This close you should be reviewing keywords, concepts and phrases, and not reading your study materials all over again. A good indication that you have learned what you need to know is practicing your recall skills a few days before the NAPLEX instead of actually trying to learn something new.

Make a mental note of the things you don't know if you stumble upon any during your actual review process and factor in learning them then. By the time of the last couple of days pre naplex test you should really only be practicing with flashcards in order to aid your memory. You should now be in control of the knowledge you have learned.

Now is the right time to try to practice on mock exams - if you have any - or sample questions out of your naplex study or revision guides. Actually sit and work the question as if you were sitting the exam - don't worry about if your answer is actually correct or not. Sit there, read the question, work out your approach to answering it and do it - run the exam, walk the process of you answering questions on this topic under exam conditions - start to feel exactly what you are going to be doing in just a couple of days time.

The next step is to adjust your schedule to conform to the likely circumstances during exam day. You should try to wake up as you would on the day of your NAPLEX. This will condition your body to get the right cycle as the exam approaches. Also, get enough sleep. Make sure that your alarm clock will function properly when the day comes. Most cell phones have an alarm function on them - set that as well to be a back up alarm, just in case.

Take a visit to the site of your exam. Familiarize yourself with the place so you'll know how much time you need to allot for going there or where to park your car once you arrive in order to save precious time. You will also need to know where the restrooms are or where to buy snacks during the break.

Take time off from studying to relax, exercise or breathe fresh air. This will help you sleep better at night, thus preparing your body and mind for the exam. You should gather your strength after long days of studying and prepare for the main event. Go watch a movie or spend time with family and friends. Take an hour's worth of walk everyday.

On the eve of the exam day, prepare all the things you will need to bring like the permit, identification cards and confirmation numbers. Do not forget to pack your personal belongings such as eyeglasses. You would not want to leave anything important when you go to the exam site on the day of your appointment.

Remember, the last few days before your exams are crucial in preparing you the person for the last hurdle in becoming a licensed pharmacist. You need to make sure that all the aspects of your preparation have been sufficiently covered. You wouldn't want to rush to the testing site unprepared and late - that is just a recipe for a disaster.

Taking The Naplex Exam - What Actually Happens When You Get There - Part 1

Okay - so you've revised, learnt, crammed, swotted and basically filled every spare inch of your brain with Naplex facts, figures and scenarios. You'd swear you can feel Naplex info oozing out of you as you move.

naplex review book

If you squeeze one more tip or solution into your brain - it'll explode.

NAPLEX

Great.

You're ready.

Now what?

Well - knowing what the limits and restrictions are going to be when you finally sit the exam would probably help - so here you are, a simple breakdown of the day's events and the 'You Can Do' and 'Woah, You Can't Do That' details.

Firstly - aim to get to your nominated test centre early - about 30 minutes early if possible. Checking in and getting your administratum details sorted away will take some time and can't be rushed. The naplex exam usual starts within a 30 minute period from your scheduled test time. So if your test was due to start as 11:00 in the morning - you should be sitting down and beginning by 11:30am at the latest.

Now, if you have to wait more than 30 minutes - the test center should offer you two options - continue waiting and take it as soon as possible that day OR reschedule for another day and time. If you choose the another day and time option - you should not incur any extra costs for this rescheduling - bar your travel costs, naturally. After all, you're ready and it's not your fault they aren't!

But do be careful - if you arrive for your test more than 30 minutes after your scheduled time the center are fully entitled to turn you away and require you to re-apply. Your original test fee would be forfeit and you WOULD NOT get a refund.

Moral? Don't be late!!!

When you do walk into the test center you'll need to offer up two forms of ID, one of which must have both a current picture of you as well as a signature on it - so a passport or driving licence is ideal! The second ID form must contain at least your signature - credit card or ID card of some sort being ideal as a second form.

Things not acceptable as a secondary form of ID would be:

ID with no photo

Expired passport

Sample Follow Up Email Sequence

In this section we are going to go over some exact plans of action you can use for creating follow up sequences that you will send out after someone subscribes to your newsletter or buys a product from you.

For example, here's an excellent follow-up sequence you should use after they signup for your list or buy a product...

SAMPLE QUESTIONS

Message 1 (Instant) - Send them a download link to the product, thank them for their purchase or signup and give them a way to contact you for help, support or questions. This can be simply saying "reply to this e-mail for assistance" or a link to a support desk.

Message 2 (3 Days After First Message) - Ask them if they were able to download the product okay and let them know that you are available for any questions they may have and let them know how to get in contact with you again.

Message 3 - (10 Days After First Message) - Point to a great benefit/feature of the product that they just got from you and tell them specifically how to enjoy that benefit. If it's an eBook, tell them the page number and where to read the information they can use. If it's a physical product, describe how to do something specifically that helps them.

Message 4 - (20 Days After First Message) - This message is meant to cover common questions that someone might have about your product. If you don't' have any questions or if your product is still new, you will want to go through your product and think what a customer may ask and write these down. Another option is to check out the websites of competing products and see if they have an common questions listed that you can use to mold your own. On the other hand, if you have questions that people have sent you regarding your product that you have answers, simply gather the questions and answers and arrange them into a message.

This message is meant to address any blocks that the customer may be having regarding the use or consumption of the product that they just haven't had the time to ask.

Message 5 - (30 Days After First Message) - This message should contain a bonus. Now, whatever you are selling, whether it be a digital or physical product, I always recommend the bonus be digital. Why? You can offer some information that enriches the use of their product and helps them get more out of it while delivering it in a way that costs nothing to product or deliver. The best part is that they get this instantly. I also recommend that you setup a sales page that shows that you are really selling the bonus so that they get the feeling of "getting something paid for free" rather than just getting something that someone specifically created to be a freebie.

Okay, this month long sequence of messages is what I like to call "nurturing the customer". In the first month you don't try to sell them anything. You help them by making sure that they got their product, helping them consume it or use it and also answer any questions or concerns that they may have. You cap it all off with a bonus that further increases the value that they received out of your and makes them an even more satisfied customer.

6 Top Tips On How To Choose The Perfect Comprehensive Study Guide For Naplex Exams

We all know how nerve wracking sitting an exam of any sort can be.

naplex review

Sitting the Naplex exam is no different from any other type of exam. The naplex exam was developed by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), and they use it as part of the process of assessing your competency to practice in the field of pharmacy.

NAPLEX

Finding a comprehensive study guide for naplex exams will really assist you in feeling both confident before and during the exam as well as giving you a good, solid foundation of knowledge whilst actually practising pharmacy.

But how do you know which comprehensive study guide for Naplex exams is worth your time and money and which ones have been written by somebody who doesn't really understand the tests, how best to approach them and how to plan your study time properly?

Here are six of the top things that you should look out for when you're considering buying any form of Naplex exams study guide:-

1. The naplex study guide should be written by a natural test scorer, meaning that you are getting inside knowledge and actual facts from somebody who knows what they're talking about.

2. Your guide should be written in a flowing, easy to understand style that makes it easy for you to understand the point that is being made, along with it's ramifications.

3. Your guide should be direct and to the point. It shouldn't contain any fluff or padding or anything that is going to distract you from actually learning the correct answers and correct methods with which to successfully pass your Naplex exam.

4. Your comprehensive study guide to Naplex exams should focus on the actual taking of the test first and then cover the materials second. ( After all, if the actual material was what was most important in this type of test, every single pharmacy student with an average to good memory would be able to get top marks - just through remembering facts and figures!)

This never actually happens though, because there is a huge difference between a classroom or study time performance and your actual, live performance under actual, live test conditions when the pressure is really on. You need a comprehensive study guide that will help you understand this and work with you to help you overcome any stress or strains that you may feel under exam conditions.

5. A decent study guide should also work to encourage you and motivate you to keep studying. It should lay out a clearly defined path - the speediest route - for you to take to learn what is necessary to pass that test.

How many times have you sat down and read a textbook and although the subject may interest you, you find that you're easily distracted and your thoughts are wandering, because the actual text on the page doesn't grip you, moving you along with it, making it easy for you to study and learn?

6. And finally - and most importantly - your guide should come with a full guarantee. Rare I know and many would scoff at this idea but if you don't pass the exams, you should be able to get a full refund with no questions asked. After all, if the guide is actually any good, the publishers/ sellers should be willing to put your money where their guide's mouth is!

As a final thought to consider - try to find a naplex study guide that also gives comprehensive details on how to approach some of the tricks of taking this specific type of exam.

For example, what random bits of information within the wording of the question often give away the right answers?

How you should milk the question clues to deduce the right answer, even if you don't actually have any idea what is being asked?

Most importantly, how to avoid panicking when you don't actually know the answer to a question. You need a study guide that will offer you a systematic method that serves as a lifeline during the test.

And finally, wherever possible, don't buy a comprehensive study guide to naplex exams, unless you can read some customer testimonials first. If people are actually happy to write a testimonial on a study guide - it follows to reason that they passed the exam and used this particular guide, don't you think?

Police recruit sample question:

1. Officer Newton was just dispatched to a fight in progress between a male and female at the downtown fair. Upon arrival, Officer Newton realized that there were two other Officers on scene dealing with the male half. As he turned to go join the other Officers, the female half confronted him with a small baseball bat. The female, who was holding the baseball bat charged toward him. She was ordered to drop the bat, but she refused. What should he do next?

A. Officer Newton should turn and run away from the female until backup arrives

B. The Officer should try to over power the female

C. The officer should un-holster his handgun and shoot the female

D. The Officer should retrieve his baton and strike the female in the departmental approved target area

Explanation:

The correct answer is D. The Officer's next course of action should be to retrieve his non-lethal weapon like his baton, and strike the woman until she drops the weapon. Police Officer are trained to use reasonable force to control a combative individual who pose danger to self or others.

In this case, the female's actions suggest that she wanted to cause bodily harm to Officer Newton. Because of this the Officer should deploy his non-lethal weapon to the departmental approved target area. Officer Newton should not discharge his firearm in this case as his baton can subdue the suspect. If the suspect had a knife, then Officer can discharge his firearm to control the suspect. Don't re-invent the wheel and do massive research without first checking out the Internet to see if you can find policy and procedure samples. Use the following keyword phrase to search: "policies and procedures manuals" or "[name of your topic] policies and procedures". Or find books from online bookstores or the Internet that offer samples of policies and procedures documents.

Use the samples to:
Compare your research with the content contained in the sample; Compare your written policy or procedure draft with the content contained in this sample; Glean ideas from the content to see if you might have missed something (of course, your policy or procedure might be much better); Use ideas from another's policy or procedure to ask questions of YOUR USERS; this technique can often lead to more ideas from your users; and Best, use the samples as your own: Add a logo, change the company name, and call the sample your own. Most writers of sample documents don't have any copyright claims to the samples.

SAMPLE QUESTIONS

While there are many sponsored sites on the Internet that offer policies and procedures samples, do remember that sponsored sites are "pay-per-click" and not sponsored by any one or any company. Look for non-sponsored sites and read the Internet description to make sure the company has been around for a long time before buying any sample policy or procedure documents.

Also, before buying lots of samples, buy one and see if the information is worthwhile. I have purchased some samples in the past but I have found that when the author of these documents ARE NOT full-time policies and procedures writers, the content contained in the samples are often quite vague and not really very useful.

Look for BOOK AUTHORS that offer policy and procedure samples. These sample policies and procedures are apt to contain substance in their documents as they might be samples from current or past companies where the research, review, and approval process might have been substantial versus the company that simply writes minimal information to get a sale.

Look for authors that offer complete policy and procedure programs that teach you how to use writing formats for organizing your policy and procedure content. Look for MS Word templates to help you write your policies and procedures.

Look for authors that have a substantial background in policies and procedures (preferable, a full-time policies and procedures writer) and can both offer you advice on your current project but also offer you sample policies and procedures.

VERY IMPORTANT. While your intent might be to find samples that contain "lots of verbiage" that you think you need, keep in mind that your primary interest in samples should be format. For example, how are forms used or how are graphics used or how much detail is included in certain sections. Often, the way a policy or procedure document is laid out will help you as much as will the content itself.

SUMMARY: Don't re-invent the wheel. Use policy and procedure samples whenever possible.

Eight Sample Questions to Ask Your Interviewer

Congratulations on getting past the many hurdles to get that in-person interview! The in-person interview is an opportunity for the hiring manager and team to learn more about your skills and experience while getting to know you to see if you'd be a good fit for the environment. You may meet with several levels of management or just the immediate team members. Either way you'll be asked all sorts of questions about your skills, experience, education and accomplishments.

After they've had a chance to ask you about your skills and background, many interviewers will then ask you "do you have any questions for me?" Sometimes you have too many questions and will need to sift through them to ask the most important ones. At other times, you may have met with several people already and have had your questions answered. You don't want to seem unprepared, so what do you say?

Here are some suggested questions which you could ask any of your interviewers and come across as engaged, interested and prepared.

What brought you to XYZ Company and what do you like about it? What challenges do you think I would encounter in this position? What are the first three goals I should achieve to be successful in the first six months? What three words would you use to describe this organization? The manager? The role? What advice would you like to give someone going into this role? In what way would you and I work together? What else do you think I should know to be successful? Based on our conversation, would you recommend me for this position?

You should ask the last question to each interviewer to get immediate feedback. This is what we call "pre-closing". If the interviewer seems hesitant to answer it, then perhaps you haven't convinced them yet. Take the opportunity to summarize why you would be a good fit for the position.

You may say something like, "I don't mean to put you in an awkward place and maybe you are still deciding. But let me just tell you that I'm very interested in the position and I feel I would be a good fit. I especially think my experience with (fill in the blanks here) would contribute to your organization. And I would appreciate the opportunity to show you what I can do." Sell yourself without being too pushy and leave them with your words fresh in their minds.

It's ok to make notes throughout the interview, particularly those which resonate with you so that you can touch on them later, like in the thank you email or when you're "pre-closing". Don't spend your whole time writing notes, however, because you want your interviewer to feel like you're engaged in the conversation. Just jot down a word or two that you'd like to refer to later and don't take your eyes off the interviewer for more than five seconds at a time.

Also, don't get so hung up on asking all your questions that you cause the interview to fall behind. Be aware of the time and monitor the number of questions accordingly. Your goal is not to grill your interviewer, it's to get more information for the next steps in the process.

You should also have these "generic" questions in a folder to refer to when you are asked. They won't think you're cheating, they will simply think you are prepared and have taken good notes during the other interviewers.

Having good, thoughtful questions in your back pocket for your interviews will show your interviewer that you have been listening, that you're well prepared and that you are engaged in your conversation with them. So when you're not sure what to ask, refer to the above general questions for guidance and use them as you feel benefits your interview. Now, go ace that interview!

Sample 5 Paragraph Essay

A five paragraph essay is one with five paragraphs. This simply means that all the ideas of the chosen topic are organized to fit into just five paragraphs. It is made up of the introductory paragraph which contains a thesis statement.

This statement tells the general idea of the essay. For example if I were to write a sample five paragraph essay on examination malpractice in medical studies, the introduction could be "the problem of examination malpractice in medical studies is one that that has refused all the strategies adopted to eradicate it. This situation has caused a lot of problems for medical studies in all aspects."

SAMPLE QUESTIONS

The above introduction tells anyone what the essay is all about and at the same time hints on what to come in the following paragraphs: how examination malpractice has caused problems in Medical studies. The following paragraphs in a five paragraph essay then pick the points and then discuss them with supporting details, giving examples when necessary. Each of these paragraphs carries a topic sentence which is a summary of the idea in that particular paragraph.

For example, at the following paragraph I could say "children who involve themselves in examination malpractice grow up to be dangerous to the society" that is the topic sentence and it simply tell the reader what is to be discussed. I could go ahead and back it up by further explaining that "children who commit exam malpractice in school may cheat their way through school and pass their examinations probably at the top of their class, but when the time comes for them to practice they will have nothing to offer. They end up getting jobs and getting sacked from their jobs. Finally they end up jobless and may turn into high way robbers or gangsters.

The same applies for the other two paragraphs of a five paragraph essay. The details supporting the ideas should be linked and events should follow a logical order as seen above. The last stage of this sample five paragraph essay is the conclusion. The conclusion carries the thesis statement only paraphrased, and leaves the reader with something to remember. For example, the sample five paragraph essay could end in this manner" examination malpractice is not something anyone should involve in especially if that person wants to be great and well recognized in the future.

Radio Talk Show Sample Format

You and your guest can call into your show up to 15 minutes prior to air time for any last minute issue discussion and to make sure you can hear your guest and they can hear you. When you set up your call you can and should set it up to open with everyone muted. Obviously you want to un-mute your guest as soon as they are seen on your control panel to have entered the call. Anyone that joins the call will join muted. You can un-mute them and re-mute them as their questions come up in the question cue when you start taking questions after you interview your guest.

Don't start recording the show until just before you start your show introduction.

SAMPLE QUESTIONS

Here is a basic format for a talk show where you would be interviewing a guest and later opening the call for questions from your caller/participants:

o Do you introduction to your show introducing yourself . . .

Welcome your listeners and chat participants to . . .

(State the name of your show and what it is about) example:

This is (Your Name) and I want to welcome our callers and chatters to the (Name of your talk show) where we discuss all things (The subject of your show). We will be interviewing (Name of your guest/expert), of (Their company or website) regarding (what your guest is an expert on). The interview will last approximately XX minutes and then we will take questions.

o Next do a formal introduction of your interviewee - a sentence or two about their background, accomplishments and their business (Or whatever you and your guest have decided).

o Welcome your guest formally - Example: Hello (Guest name), I am so glad to have you on (Name of your show).

o Start out your interview by asking things like how your guest got involved with their area of expertise, how long they have been working in their area of expertise etc. Be sure to mention any books or training courses the guest has authored.

o Move on to your interview segment by asking the questions you worked out with your guest during your pre-interview call. Your interview of your guest/expert shouldn't run over 30 minutes but if it does, don't worry about it.

o Make sure before you end your personal interview of your guest that you plug their product or website or what ever it is they are promoting. If you are an affiliate, you want to have set up a re-direct page on your domain that goes to your affiliate page on your guest's product site.

o You will have your Teleprompter open on the left side of you computer screen and the TalkShoe Control Panel open on the right side of your screen. You can look in the question cue and say the user name with the first question you want to ask your guest.

If it is a chat only participant, you ask their question. If the caller is on the phone, un-mute the caller and say "Hi their (Username) we like to keep things on a first name basis here, so who are we speaking with? They will say their name - then you say, "From the producers board it appears you have a question about (Use an abbreviated version of the question or its primary subject), "Would you like to clarify that for us or maybe expand on your question?"

o Then you hand the question over to your guest. Let your guest have enough time to answer the question but if you do have a lot of questions in the cue, diplomatically cut them short if the answer runs over 3 or 4 minutes, saying "That's great (Guests name), we have some more questions we need to fit into the time we have left today. (Use your own judgment on this tactic). Then mute the last caller, (Don't stop talking - move right into the next question in the cue), saying "And out next question is from (Un-mute the next caller with a question and do the same into for that caller and their question.

o After the questions have been answered or you have taken all the questions you have time for, remind your listeners of the product your guest is promoting and any website you are promoting.

o Remind everyone on the call what the name of your show is, when your next show will be aired and who your upcoming guest is and what the topic of discussion will be.

o Do your sign off by saying something like - Well that's it for the (Name of your show) - I want to thank our guest (Guest's name) and all of our participants on the show - till next time this is (Your name), saying (What ever your catchy by line is).

o Stop the recording. Normally your recording will be available to download or listen to via flash media within 24 hours.

o You may want to download your show and upload it again for pod cast listeners. (See resources for free editing software.)

You can format your show any way you want. The above format example is just that; an example.
